Privacy Policy

● Zero data collection — everything runs locally

Focus Trader is built privacy-first. The extension does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any of your personal data to us or to any third party. All processing happens locally inside your own browser.

1. Who we are

Focus Trader is a Chrome browser extension that helps prop futures traders maintain discipline on supported trading platforms (TopstepX, Tradovate, and Topstep). This policy explains how the extension handles data.

2. What data the extension processes

To enforce the discipline rules you set, the extension reads certain information directly on the trading page you are viewing, such as your current profit/loss and number of trades. This information is:

Processed entirely on your device, in real time, only to check it against the rules you configured.
Never sent to the developer.
Never stored on any external server.
Never shared with or sold to any third party.

3. Settings you save

Your settings — daily loss limit, maximum trades, lockout duration, trading-window hours, pre-trade checklist items, and language/theme preferences — are saved using Chrome's local storage on your own device only. They are never uploaded anywhere.

4. Optional Telegram alerts

If — and only if — you choose to enable Telegram alerts, you enter your own Telegram bot token and chat ID. The extension then sends short rule-trigger messages (for example, "Daily loss limit reached") directly from your browser to your own Telegram bot. These credentials are stored locally and are used solely to deliver alerts to you. The developer never receives this data.

5. Why the extension requests permissions

activeTab / tabs — to detect when you are on a supported trading platform and apply the lockout to the correct tab.
scripting — to display the discipline overlay and read on-page P&L locally.
storage — to save your settings locally on your device.
alarms — to run the lockout cooldown timer and trading-window hours.
notifications — to alert you when a rule is triggered.
Host access (topstepx.com, tradovate.com, topstep.com) — so the extension runs only on these trading platforms and nowhere else.

6. No remote code

The extension contains all of its code within its package. It does not download or execute any remote code.

7. No tracking, no analytics

Focus Trader includes no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs. We do not know who you are, and we do not want to.

8. Children's privacy

The extension is intended for adult traders and is not directed at children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
